These are the best range blocks

Posted by Guy Edson on Sep 2nd 2023

I have 8 range blocks in 5 different 38/357 configurations and a 44/44 magnum. I love them all. They fit perfectly in a Romanoff pencil box with a little left over space for a couple of loaders and two rows of 10 extra rounds. And of course I use different color pencil boxes for different calibers or different configurations ie 5 shot, 6 shot, 7 sot and 8 shot. (yes I have serious OCPD) I have had a couple of these blocks for 8 years and they look like new. My only disappointment came when I started shooting precision LWC rounds -- they sit so low in the block that the loader cannot grab them. There are probably not enough shooters using LWC's to justify making a new class of blocks that will work. The workaround is to buy a bag of 8-32 by 9/16ths end caps and glue them into the cartridge slots. Works perfectly and then you end up with a dedicated LWC range block.
